Paddle With A Pro Day
Jagged Edge is proud to announce that our 2010 Paddle With A Pro Day will be happening on Thursday, June 10th and will give all who are able to participate the chance to paddle with and learn from Ruth Gordon, a Jackson Kayak sponsored athlete! We will spend the day paddling with Ruth down the beautiful Gunnison Gorge, which is a great stretch of Class III river outside of Montrose, and will be a great opportunity to learn both down-river and play boating skills from a true professional. Jagged Edge is also proud to offer free Jackson Kayak demos that day on the Gunnison, so please come out and take advantage of this great opportunity. This will be an all-day event and the San Miguel Whitewater Association will be covering all transportation and shuttle costs. All attendees must be a member of SMWA (don’t worry, you can join the day of the event if you are not yet a member) and must be comfortable paddling in consistent Class III whitewater. What a fabulous day we had with Ruth Gordon and Tanya Faux. It started with a great hike in to the river. Then the ladies taught us some great play boating moves. We spent the rest of the day playing and kayaking down the beautiful stretch of class III. The fishing must have been perfect because we saw lots of people fishing and camping.
There were 12 of us all together. Lots of adults and a couple of teens. The teenagers Tagert and Naomi were very impressive with their kayak skills and I think they learned a lot from the pros.
I can’t wait to do it again!
