It’s about time that Jagged Edge got on this fast moving technological train before it left us behind. With that being said we recently set up a facebook account so you, our loyal customers, could check out everything that we are up to at the store and in life. We will still keep the blog going with updates, reviews of gear, promotions that we are currently running and anything else that is going on; but as you know facebook is a great way to get out small bits of information quickly.

New Sweet Protection Prophecy Dry Pants!!

We are very psyched to announce the arrival of the Sweet Protection Prophecy Dry Pants, we just received our shipment here at Jagged Edge and are happy to report they are just as good as we thought they would be! For those of you not familiar with the Sweet Protection brand, these guys are out of Norway and make some of the best helmets, outerwear and accessories for whitewater kayaking.

Much like the Sweet Protection Prophecy Dry Tops, the Prophecy Dry pants are constructed using only the finest Gore-Tex Pro Shell material for excellent durability and performance. The fit is especially designed to provide an unrestricted position in the kayak, as well as perfectly overlap with the Prophecy Dry Top. Details include heavy duty hook-and-loop adjustment system on waistband, a waterproof relief zipper by TIZIP, Yamamoto neoprene seals, and a handy little pocket on the left thigh. Ridgway River Fest Saturday, June 25th!

4th Annual Ridgway River Fest

Calling all local boaters and river enthusiasts! The 4th Annual Ridgway River Festival will be happening Saturday, June 25 from 10am-6pm at Rollins Park in Downtown Ridgway, Colorado. This annual festival is a great gathering featuring events for the whole family. Multiple competitions, including the Downriver Race, Freestyle Kayak Rodeo, and Junk of the Unc Race, will be happening throughout the day, while local sponsors and vendors will be on site with food, drinks, raffles, live music, and much more!

As an annual sponsor of Ridgway River Fest, Jagged Edge is proud to support this local gathering of river people! We will be on-site for the day with a large selection of Demo Kayaks that are open to all to try out for free, as well as a selection of whitewater kayak, Stand Up Paddling, and River gear. This event is a great way to check out all types of different kayaks and learn more about the gear. River Clean Up Saturday, June 11th

The Valley Floor Clean Up Day is happening here in Telluride this Saturday, June 11th. As a way to help, we are asking anyone with river experience to come on out and collect garbage along the banks of the San Miguel River as it flows from Telluride Town Park through the Valley Floor. We will be meeting at Noon on Saturday at Jagged Edge, and we are offering up our Demo fleet of kayaks to anyone who needs a boat to use! Traveling via the river and collecting trash really allows us to reach spots those on foot can’t, and volunteers will be stationed along the way to help us unload full bags of garbage! Please call us at Jagged Edge if you have any questions or concerns, otherwise we hope to see you out there!!

Movie Night at Jagged Edge-Friday May 20th 7 pm

Jagged Edge is proud to host our annual Movie Night and Fundraiser for the San Miguel Whitewater Association on Friday, May 20th. We will be showing the kayak movie “Source”, which follows some of the best whitewater paddlers as they explore different countries, rivers and cultures, as well as other short videos that focus on the importance of rivers in our lives. The movie night will be happening at our Main Street location in downtown Telluride, and doors will open at 7pm. Tickets are $10, and raffle tickets for a great bunch of prizes will be $5 a piece. Please come out and join us for a night of fun while supporting a great cause!

Kayak Swap- Saturday May 21st

Jagged Edge will be hosting its annual Kayak Swap on Saturday May 21st at its Main Street location in downtown Telluride. Don’t be fooled by the name, all general river gear, including rafts, kayaks, inflatables, Stand Up Paddle Boards, etc, can be bought or sold at this event! If you have gear you would like to sell at the swap, please bring that gear to Jagged Edge on Friday, May 20th for check in. The swap will start promptly at 9am Saturday morning and will be happening all day! This event is run in conjunction with the San Miguel Whitewater Association and American Whitewater. 20% of revenue from any item sold at the swap will be donated to these two great non-profits! Please come out and join us for a day of fun, education, and great deals on river toys!
