BCA Float 30 Avalanche Airbag

Jagged Edge is proud to carry the latest in avalanche safety gear.  One of the hottest and newest products in  avalanche safety are airbags.  While the Float 30 by BCA looks similar to most backcountry packs, it has the added safety feature of a deployable airbag.  When caught in a slide, one’s main concern is to be evacuated as quickly as possible.  This is exactly where the Float 30 is most useful.  If caught in an avalanche slide, you can immediately pull a cord that deploys an airbag surrounding your head and shoulders.  This technology keeps the user from being buried under the snow and thus vastly decreases rescue time. Once the pack has been deployed it can be reused by simply refilling the air canister at a local dive shop.

Furthermore, the pack features a 30 liter compartment for carrying extra layers, snacks, and water.  It also has specific compartments for your shovel and probe. Come into the Jagged Edge to check out the pack yourself!
