Avalanche Awareness Forum – Feb. 14th

This upcoming Monday, February 14th join the San Juan Field School and Telluride Ski Patrol for Part 3 of their Avalanche Awareness Forum.  What better way to celebrate Valentine’s Day then learning how to save your sweetheart from an Avalanche?

This particular installment will focus on avalanche rescue and the latest gear for avalanche rescue.  There will even be a demonstration of an avalanche airbag, one of the latest technological developments in avalanche safety.

This is a free public forum designed to stimulate discussion and thought on how to safely access the backcountry.  While this course is not a replacement for a Level I avalanche course, it is certainly a good way to get started.  If you are already familiar with the backcountry, this forum provides an excellent opportunity to stay current with all the advancements in the avalanche rescue field.

Additionally, there will be a free beacon class offered on the Tuesday and Wednesday following the class.
