It’s hard to believe that its been over 15 years since Jagged Edge had its humble beginnings in downtown Telluride.  Margaret Quenemoen, Jagged Edge’s founder, first opened the small business to sell fleece hats and headbands out of push-cart on main street, and thus a brand was born.  Margaret eventually moved her operation into a retail space on Telluride’s iconic main drag, as well as expanded the line up of products being made.  From that humble beginning in Telluride came 6 retail stores scattered throughout the mountain west, as well as a thriving wholesale business that was helping to bring the Jagged Edge brand to the greater outdoor community.  Paula Quenemoen, Margaret’s twin sister, was enlisted to help run the show along with a dedicated staff of Telluride locals who helped evolve the Jagged Edge product line up from fleece hats and vests to technical outwear and insulation built for moving through the mountains.

Change came in 2002 as the downturn in the national economy post 9/11 took its toll on even the healthiest of businesses, and Jagged Edge was forced to scale back in both its presence and product offerings.  Many of the retail stores were shut down and the brand itself was shuffled around by various partners trying to breath new financial life into the fledgling business.  Although many past products are currently out of production, the Jagged Edge brand is still alive and well on main street in Telluride, where the original retail location has been given a second life as a specialty outdoor retail store.  Operated since 2002 as a family-operated, locally owned business, Jagged Edge Telluride still supplies locals with some of the best outdoor gear around.

The humble beginnings, the rise to success, the bumps along the road, they have all helped to shape where the business is today, but nothing has changed what’s most important: our customers.  Both locals and longtime visitors to Telluride alike have helped to support us throughout our many years of business, and we appreciate every one of them.  We continually strive to provide the best selection of products and the best expert advice to give our customers a great purchasing experience.  We feel lucky to call Telluride home, and hope to be a fixture on main street for many more years to come!
